Luke Skywalker Jedi Knight- Kenner Star Wars 1983 blue saber snap cape.

There are more than 20 variants of Luke Jedi. There are 5 COO variant marks They include  Hong Kong, Made in Hong Kong, Made In Taiwan, and no coo. There are variants of both the body and  the head. There are both painted hair and molded hair variants. Most elusive is the snap cape ad blue saber.

Luke Jedi 65A card back found with a - blue saber with snap cape.

Most common are Taiwan figures. These figures only cane with a green saber- the lighter green and a lighter grey palace blaster. The Taiwan for the most part are later releases.

Recently I was digging through a collection I had purchased. The owner had the original card backs bubbles and weapons etc. He was confident the figures matched up with the card backs correctly. I too was pretty confident they all matched up.

The Luke Jedi, shown here, had a snap cape – and a blue saber. It makes sense as the 65A card back would be the earliest issue. Research shows they also shipped with a green saber, the darker green. As well as the regular cape. There is also Taiwan version with a snap cape, It was on a 77bk card and shipped with a lighter green saber and lighter grey palace blaster. See all the variants and more in my guide. Starwarsfigurevariations.com its an easy pdf e-book download.

Vintage Luke Skywalker Taiwan COO head variations

There is a unique head variation for the Luke Taiwan COO. Notice the elongated chin, compared to the more familiar head similar to the Hong Kong Figures, The elongated chin head appears to be more common than the more traditional molded head. My suspicion is the left two shown are ROTJ era figures, where the far right one is an early SW release 12 back TAIWAN release. The

Figure also has either a bar in the slot int he arm or no slot. And a few other differences which I have updated in the newest revisions of my figure guide.
12 back Taiwan figures are relatively hard to find compared to the Hong Kong figures, Luke, Leia, R2, Darth and Chewy were also released on 12 back Taiwan Cards.
